SVS: Tension is a Vineyard value

This is an SVS video about a gathering of friends (Society of Vineyard Scholars) that has been really, really great to be involved with and explore fun and significant matters with the past few years.

My absolute favorite line in this brief video is from Caleb: "...because y'know, tension is a Vineyard value..."

Society of Vineyard Scholars: Relevant, Constructive, Spiritual from Society of Vineyard Scholars on Vimeo.

FYI: The Annual SVS Conference will be hosted by the Mercy Vineyard in Minneapolis, Minnesota in April 2012...so save the date and I'll see you there!

Yeah I like that line. Its somthing that needs to be injected over to the Australian Vineyard! But then again I think size does matter.

well then, I'll ask the obvious question: why does size matter...or even perhaps better: how does size matter?

Yeh sorry Steve a rather obscure comment. Australian Vineyard has about 20 churches if you look for people that are like minded it is rather difficult to the extent you feel rather isolated. For us we actually gravitated towards people outside your denomination who we had similar values and practice. I think the denomination could accommodate us but this is different from feeling that you belong.
I think the US Vineyard sound like it is in a good position. As in there are enough Churches where you will feel a kindred spirit. The US Vineyard sound like it is something that I'm sure I could feel comfortable in.
Keep up the writing still enjoy your blog

Actually, I feel that acutely. Of course, we feel like family, we just feel like the black sheep of it, or maybe like cousin It...there are an increasing number of us, and thank God for people like Dave Nixon, Kevin Rains. Rose Madrid-Swetman and Bill Faris, who are actually hosting a breakout session @ our National Leaders Conference on Alt-Vineyard, alternative ways Vineyards are doing and being the church. That's definitely encouraging...
